Historic Preservation Fund Advocacy | Great news! The FY 25 SHPO/THPO funds have been released to Interior to pass through to SHPOs and THPOs. The Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) was established in 1976 to support the initiatives mandated by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. The HPF has historically been authorized at $150M annually and represents | | | | the federal government's investment in a public-private partnership to preserve historic sites that honor our shared past.
Despite being funded by Congress in March 2025 through a Continuing Resolution, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 appropriations for the Historic Preservation Fund have been unreleased until now!
Thank you to everyone who emailed, called, and spoke up - and to our preservation champions in Congress who heard us. | | | | | |
